We just haven’t taken any sessions for July. We made a conscious decision to do so in order to give the proper attention to the work we already had on hand. New sessions will be resuming in August, though! Until then, I am happy to show you a few images from some of our personal family activities that have taken place over the last few weeks.
At the beginning of July, my amazing paternal grandmother turned 90! My family will pretty much use any excuse to get together for a party, and this was certainly no exception. Granted, turning 90 is definitely something to celebrate! Especially for this exceptional woman who single handedly raised 10 incredible human beings. On t’aime Grand-Maman!

And this shot is of my cousin and her nephew. It was so incredibly serene to see them sitting there as the sun was going down that I dropped to my stomach and crept up behind them. Hey, I was around family and they all know that I’ll do almost anything to get “the shot”… I love this one.

A little later this month, it was my uncle’s turn to hit a milestone birthday! Who knew 50 could look so good? And how is it that as men age, they become so much more distinguished looking? So unfair!

I don’t care what you say… NO ONE can hula that hoop like my aunt!

My hubby was teaching our middle child to play some ball. This kid can hit!!

And this strapping young man is my younger (because he isn’t little anymore!) brother. Sorry ladies, he’s taken. ![]()

A great time was had by all who attended this pic-nic party hosted by my aunt and cousins. Thank you so much to the organizers!
Today my husband and I took a much needed day off. We were happy to have planned it that way because we got a call from our friends at the local Henry’s store (the one in Orleans - they always provide us with the BEST service ever! Thanks Mark, Martin and the rest of the gang!)… The new Nikon D700 we ordered had arrived! WOOT! There’s nothing like getting a new camera to put some bounce in your step! Anyway, we rounded up the kids in exactly what they were wearing, grabbed our camera bags and headed out to pick up the newest member of our gear family. Of course, a new camera means lots of “testing”, so we headed to a nearby park to try that sucker out. Here are just a few images my wonderful husband Eric captured with the D700 (he got to give it a test drive first since he will be the one using it for weddings). The first three have very little post processing done - I basically pulled back the highlights slightly, cropped and resized for the blog (and the duck got a bit of a saturation boost). The last one I played with a little more.

The grass had been freshly cut - and who could resist a fight with the clippings?

And finally, to finish off the post, here are some images that I shot this afternoon with my usual camera (my beloved Nikon D3). Enjoy!

Phew! Ok… I hope that makes up for my recent lack of posting. If you made it this far, you deserve a medal for sure.
