Holly & Andrew’s Wedding - Ottawa Wedding Photographer

Ok, I have 5 words to describe Holly and Andrew’s wedding. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and gorgeous! Ok, I suppose that really only qualifies as one word, but honestly… it’s the only one I need. Bride - gorgeous. Groom - gorgeous. Holly’s dress - gorgeous. The bridal party - gorgeous. I think you can see where I’m going with this… Their ceremony took place at the very charming St-Bernard’s Church right here in Ottawa and then we moved on to the Ornamental Gardens for their formal photos. They braved some chilly, windy weather, and because of their willingness to stick it out we ended up with some really great stuff! After the couple’s photos we made our way to the Centurion Conference and Event Center for dinner and the reception (yep, you guessed it… gorgeous!).

Gorgeous Baby A - Ottawa Newborn Photographer

Oh how I love the real moments captured during a photo experience! Meet sweet baby A - the newest addition to the W family. She was such a cutie and I fully expect her to grow up to be a strong-minded, determined little girl. She was very alert during our session and completely curious. How many other newborns do you know who yawn with their eyes wide open? We did manage to get her to sleep for us, though.

I had a great time and thank J & I for having me over to capture their beautiful baby girl.

Woohoo! Post 2 for tonight!

This one’s gonna be a little different from what I usually show. Although this couple said they were ok with their images going up on our blog, I felt a little bit of apprehension so I don’t feel comfortable posting their faces. Jessie & Frank were married at the beautiful Arboretum at the Central Experimental Farm here in Ottawa. Everything about the event was stunning! The weather, the bride, the groom, the location… I seriously lucked out!

Now, I’ve been badly neglecting the blog, so I’m going to get right to the photos!

As soon as I walked in the door, I fell in love with this sweetheart. She was sooo good for us and we got some fabulous shots!

One of my all-time favorite family shots.

And this next one makes me wish we had a dog when my own children were born! Gypsy was ready and willing to lay there, completely calm, and cradle the newest member of her family. Thanks Gypsy! You rock!

Congratulations Davina & Carl! I know Miss O has chosen two of the best parents possible. I’m so incredibly happy for all 3 of you (well, all 4 of you - including Gypsy)!

Eric and I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Melanie & Brandon’s wedding at the gorgeous Lord Elgin Hotel in August. I have to say, it was an absolute honor to be there and the location was absolutely phenomenal - one of my very favorites to date.

Now, I know the bride and groom are eagerly awaiting these, so I won’t ramble on. On to the good part…

Now, how can you not love a bride who can enjoy a good lollipop while getting ready?

I love it when we can capture these stolen moments.

What can I say about Sara & Francis? I am truly thankful to have crossed paths with them this year as they are two of the nicest people one could ever meet. They were married at the Beautiful Bean Town Ranch in Wendover ( just east of Ottawa), and I was truly honored to be a part of their big day. Thank you so much Sara & Francis for having me there!

Ok, so check out these two awesome people. I had such a great time doing Shelley & Jody’s E-session this week. We made our way to one of my absolute favorite places to shoot here in Ottawa - the Experimental Farm. They were total troupers to put up with the humidity and we got some really great stuff.

Shelley - I know you said no butt shots after sitting on the ground, so I hope I don’t get a lashing for this one!

Jody wanted to make sure we checked out the bling!

The incredibly talented Christine Melenhorst from Love Bunny Photography will be covering Shelley & Jody’s wedding for us on Saturday. I know the images will be amazing and I can’t wait to see them!

New Life - Ottawa Newborn Photographer

I hear a thunderstorm in the background, so I’m hoping to get this post up before our power goes out (as it almost always does in bad weather).

I’d like to wish a warm welcome to little miss M, who was all of 7 days young when I got the chance to photograph her last week. Oh how I love working with these itty bitty babes! My husband also loves that I work with them… it keeps me from feeling the need for any more of my own! Haha!

Apparently miss M was usually quite sleepy, but we got to see lots of her beautiful baby blues during our session. I’m really hoping this meant she (and her parents!) had a fabulous night’s sleep afterwards.

Ladies & Gentlemen… KISS!! - Ottawa Event Photographer

So, when I started this blog I promised you all a peek into my life. I guess I haven’t really followed through all that much with that promise. Well, it’s time to change that.

Recently, my amazing husband Eric and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary, and began our 11th year (!!!!) as a couple. I can’t believe it’s been that long… incredible that he’s put up with me! As my gift to him, I purchased a couple of tickets to see KISS at Ottawa’s Cisco Bluesfest.

Best. Decision. Ever.

I’ve seen quite a few live shows, and in all honesty, KISS has been the BEST by far. I can’t even begin to describe in words just how fun the evening was. We got rained on a fair bit, but no one cared! Now of course, this being a photography blog, I don’t really need to tell you just how awesome it was ’cause I can SHOW you. We went into the event not knowing whether or not we would be allowed to take photos with our pro gear and listened intently for an announcement that the big guns needed to be put away. It never came! WOOHOO! Unfortunately, my short self couldn’t get a clear shot of anything, so I relenquished the camera duties to my fantastibulous hubby… who also happens to by my second shooter for weddings. I’m SO taking all 6ft 1in of him to EVERY concert I go to from now on!

Ok, so enough yammering! On to Eric’s awesome photos!

We have TONS more photos but I don’t have time to go through them just yet. I’ll definitely try to post more when I get a chance.
